Earth Angels

Speciesism.
That boorish arrogance, hubris.
Deaf to wisdom, portrayed in
ominous myth, faery lore.
Slay the goose;
destroy the whales.
Uproot untold trees
bearing fruits that may have
saved us staggering pain.
Crucial for well-being
microbes, photosynthesis,
symbiotic processes, ignored, 
or misunderstood, denigrated.
Focus expended on ephemeral
rating, ignorant opinion, 
petty greeds and rivalries,
diatribes on evil and good.
Realities we have yet to account to,
acknowledge,
fall, collateral damage
to insolent bravado.
What poetic tragedy will 
convince us to let go,
rethink such a mad master plan,
relinquish need to believe
Man commands?
